Not contagious: White gums from smoking would be from the heat, dryness, and irritation associated with the smoke. It is not likely yet, but it can cancer. It should be checked out by a professional.

Not contagious but..: White gum from smoking is more likely a leukoplakia developed from tissue change due to smoking. Leukoplakia is a first step (white patch that does not wipe off) and will becoming red (erythroplakia) as more blood vessel develop and then acanthoma and then carcinoma in situ (cancer). It is not contagious but please stop because cancer is worse!

Leukoplakia: is a greyish/ white patch that develops in the mouth and that cannot be wiped off. It is caused by chronic irritation, not contagious and should be checked by your dentist. Smoking is the most common cause.

No: If you have white gum sores from smoking, you may have oral cancer, or the precursor to it. Get to the Dentist or Oral Surgeon - whoever can see you first- to examine these areas. Do not mess around with this - get the appointment and get this diagnosed and treated --- right away ! .Good Luck. (Please seriously consider quitting smoking )
