Probably neither : Lack of exercise and posture may be related to low back pain but you need a complete history physical exam and probably imaging of your spine to have a better understanding of its cause. If the pain is severe there are some diagnostic injections to determine its cause as well.

It might be.: This can be from position of sleep and/or lack of exercise. If you're a big man or heavy, you might have a lot of pressure on your lower back. If your job involves a lot of lifting or sitting forward, you can get lower back pain. Also lack of exercise means you're out if shape and your body can be less able to carry your body weight and sleep position puts more weight on some parts of your body.
