Keratosis pilaris: Fine bumps causes by thickening of the top layer of the skin. These are often treated with prescription lactic acid. Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient in Proactiv and while I've never used it for keratosis pilaris, you could try any drugstore benzoyl peroxide preparation for acne and if Proactiv worked for you.

My almost three year old has developed very small, flesh colored bumps all over his back. Look a lot like keratosis pilaris which he has on his arms and thighs like myself, but some of these bumps are clustered, others are not. not itchy. not red.
Prescribed 1.62% testosterone gel. The instructions in the package & online say to use on shoulder/upper arms only yet the doctor stated on rx to apply to inner thigh once daily. Is this ok vs shoulders - will it work equally well? How about forearms?
