Keratosis pilaris: Fine bumps causes by thickening of the top layer of the skin. These are often treated with prescription lactic acid. Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient in Proactiv and while I've never used it for keratosis pilaris, you could try any drugstore benzoyl peroxide preparation for acne and if Proactiv worked for you.
