No: It can be inherited to some degree, but plenty of people with kp get it on non-hairy areas, including the face. There doesn't seem to be a single cure for it, but some patients have found good results with things like amlactin cream, thorough exfoliation, slathering coconut oil on in the shower, and eliminating wheat and dairy from their diets.
