A member asked:

Hi, i took 4 mg of ativan (lorazepam) even though i'm only to take 0.5 mg tid. should i seek medical help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Assume you take Ativan (lorazepam) for anxiety. You took about 2½ times the prescribed dose, so yes you should review med dosage with prescribing doctor and discuss alternatives, eg. SSRI type, that may be more effective. Also consider exam with your pcp to make sure you have no medical conditions that could cause anxiety. Avoid alcohol while taking Ativan (lorazepam). Hope this helps.
