Yes: Often you may have this for a period of time as the mouth is stretched open and manipulated in many situations. The muscles are likely sore and possibly spasm when you open. Limit your opening and stay away from hard chewy foods for a few more days. Take ibuprofen for the inflammation - about 400 mg 4xday with 8-12 oz water for 3-5 days to help speed the muscle recovery. Trismus: The most common complication after wisdom tooth extraction is trismus also called lockjaw, spasm and tightness in the jaw muscles. The best treatment is moist heat and jaw exercises. If concerned, see your surgeon for eval.
