Exam : In this type of forum there really is no way to know without examining you and taking a thorough history , Xrays etc. Often times bilateral ( both hands)swelling in a woman your age is benign and related to hand / upper extremity position while sleeping ... If swelling persists see your primary care physician . Best of Luck!

Swelling hands : While the baseline issue cannot be ascertained simply by swelling. The reason conditions often swell the hands at night is a combination of gravity and lack of motion. Swelling is typically extra cellular fluid and without gravity driving this down towards your feet well your face and hands are swollen in the morning. It is a common observation!!
