A few days: It sounds as if you have a sty on the inside of the eyelid. Try heat to the eyelid (a small baking potato heated in the microwave and wrapped in a cloth and the applied for about 10 minutes every 4-6 hours should help). This will help it to mature and open--probably 1-3 days.You should see your MD to confirm and prescribe an antibiotic once it opens and drains
