Be safe; get checked: If your pregnancy has been uneventful and you are a healthy woman, your perception of fetal kicks may not be a cause for alarm, unless it is accompanied by changes in your cervix like softening or shortening. A clinical exam of your cervix and a sonographic measurement of cervical length should provide you much information and hopefully reassurance. Premature delivery is difficult to predict
