I am very sorry but: if there was no heartbeat on the 8 week ultrasound, but this was one visible two weeks prior then it is almost certain that the fetus will not grow any further and you will soon have a miscarriage. The repeat ultrasound is not unreasonable, there may have been a technical error in the part of whomever was doing the ultrasound but this is not likely. I am very sorry.
