Gallbladder pain.: If you are having repeated attacks of pain due to the gallbladder, with sludge and thickened gallbladder wall, it is likely that you may end up needing a cholecystectomy. This is a decision made by clinical judgment of your doctor and your surgeon. If the attacks are still persistent, talk to them or go to the emergency room. Good luck.

See a surgeon: See a surgeon. Thick sludge can also cause gallbladder attacks. The frequency and intensity of attacks as well as infection, are the deciding factors for surgery
