Depends on anesthesi: a used.If local anesthesia is used with no pain killers, then it might be safe to go back, even though no one will understand what you're saying due to your lips being numb & possible drooling. If general anesthesia or pain meds used, absolutely not.You are at risk driving or doing machinery.Tke the day off to recover & heal faster.You can't eat right away or you could bite your lips accidentally.

As long: As long as you feel OK. You just had surgery, so taking a day off would be a good idea. If you do decide to go to work, as the day goes by if bleeding doesn't stop, if you feel unwell, leave work early.

Possibly: Without knowing the extent of the surgery, if you were sedated, or what type of work you do (like operate heavy machinery), it's best to ask your treating surgeon.
