See your doctor: That finding could be a kidney stone, complex cyst, scar tissue or a tumor. Evaluation with a CAT scan or MRI may be needed. Tumors and complex cysts can mean early cancers that can be cured by removing the kidney. However, most abnormal findings in the kidneys are not cancers. See your doctor for complete evaluation.
