Can soda affect the bc pill? i was out of water and only had soda to take it with. also major diarrhea within an hour of taking it. still effective?

Pill absorption: The pill is better absorbed with plain water, but the soda will not prevent absorption nor will the "back door" blues.(diarrhea) If you had vomited after taking the pill, then absorption would be affected.

Should be fine.: Your birth control pill should be just as effective after having been swallowed with soda is with water. The diarrhea should not have affected it either. Good luck.

Soda: Doubtful. More concerning is the diarrhea, which may affect the ability of medication to be absorbed. If diarrhea is persistent, seek medical attention. Also, I would use additional contraception during this cycle.
