Depends: lower airways, bronchi, are affected in many diseases, immunodeficiency states are one sort of diseases that affect all exposed surfaces, airways, gastrointestinal tract and skin, but those are very rare diseases, more common though are the type of airway inflammation in the immunocompetent persons as asthma, COPD, especially in smokers, producing symptoms of fatigue and recurrent infections
