Can you tell me what immune systems are involved in fighting bronchitis?

Dr. Milton Alvis, jr answered

Specializes in Preventive Medicine

Brochioles WBC Cough: The bronchioles are lined with mucous & water secreting cells along with ciliary cells. The mucous floats on top of the water layer, traps inhaled particles & bacteria, the ciliary cells whip the mucous layer up to the pharynx & is swallowed into stomach; a mucociliary elevator clearing all lung air passages every 15-30 min, 24/7. WBCs attracted to problem areas & coughing are backup mechanisms.
