Trichomonas Rx: Trichoomonas treatments need to be given for a designated therapeutic periods of time. If the treatment is not taken for the duration of therapy, or is given at a shortened regimen, it can fail. Moreover, the most common problem(not in your case) is the partner's failure to take the medication. Make sure your are re-tested after each Rx to be sure it was successful or not.

Confirm a diagnosis: If your diagnosis of "trich" was made twice and you and partner (s) were treated with metronidazole for one or for 7-10 days, your "symptoms" may be due to something other than trich. You may need a reevaluation to confirm your diagnosis and/or exclude other diagnoses. Resistance of trich to metronidazole, though very rare, should also be considered as well as other treatment options by your gyn.
