Brugada & anesthesia: The risk of a drug causing or worsening a cardiac rhythm disturbance is a concern with some anesthetic drugs. For patients w/ Brugada syndrome, this is a much more significant issue. In a study of 57 patients w Brugada, a single dose of propafol did not cause problems, but extreme caution is advised for general anesthesia of Brugada patients especially w prolonged propafol infusion.
