is the treatment for spleen hemangioma always surgery?

Dr. Gurmukh Singh

Not necessarily: The lesion may be left untreated. If the lesion is large, it is usually treated by removing the spleen, however, you may wish to discuss selective embolization of the vessel with your doctor. See this site for more info. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11307096/
