My fianc is having major tooth pain. he's taken 1 and a half ibuprofen 800, and 2 tylenol (acetaminophen). it hasn't even touched his pain. what else can we do for relief until we can see the dentist in the morning?

Very little else: Unfortunately without knowing the exact cause of the pain it is difficult to say. Most toothaches are caused by an infected pulp/nerve of the tooth. Decay is the most common culprit and if there is a large cavity, using a topical anesthetic such as orajel may help decrease it somewhat.

Other meds: Either antibiotics or stronger pain meds. ER?
