A member asked:

My daughter is 11 1/2 at 5'2" and just started her period. she always one of the tallest in her class, but now is worried she is almost done growing? (dad is 6'6", mom 5'5")

A doctor has provided 1 answer

90th percentile: She is taller than 90% of girls her age. Although girls grow the most the year prior to their first menstrual cycle, she should continue to grow, up to 18 yo or so, at a slower rate. Pediatricians use graphic tables that show the progression in height and weight, according to age and he can make a gross prediction of her adult height. Next time she sees her doc, ask him to show you these tables.
