I have a retracted eardrum in my right ear for the past week. i have tried to equalise with blowing with closed airways and it has not helped. how long does this normally last? thanks

ETD: Sounds like trouble equalizing the pressure in your middle ear. This often creates a fullness or blockage, like you want to pop or clear your ears. It is called eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD). It cold last 2-3 wks. Decongestant either sprayed into the nose or taken orally can alleviate this problem. Sometimes your doctor needs to examine this and treat with other Rx if no success with OTC Rx
