Normal cycle: Normally the menstrual cycle will come at the usual time although Plan B can cause some temporary cycle disruption in some users. It is a high dose of Progesterone designed to disrupt ovulation. Take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after use to verify that it worked. Consider starting birth control to avoid these scares in the future.

Plan B: Potential side effects w emergency contraception include menstrual flow changes (spotting, bleeding, early or late period) but there is a good chance that it will not effect the timing of your next period.
