Follow up appt: Whenever you are given antibiotics for a condition but do not improve you need to return to your MD to be rechecked. Antibiotics only work on bacterial infections IF the germ is not resistance. Gargle warm salt water, hot tea and honey and rest but make a follow up appointment soon. If rapidly worsening symptoms seek emergent care especially if difficulty breathing develops.
