Infected lymph nodes: Usually, a person who gets enlarged lymph nodes from an infection in her throat, head, or neck, will get rid of her infection and then her nodes will shrink down to regular size. Once in a while, a person gets infectious germs spreading to one or more neck nodes, and the germs get the upper hand. The result is a big abscess in the node(s), needing antibiotics and further care. Must see a doctor.
