Absolutely: The swelling is the infection spreading to your cheek, heart, kidneys, lungs, etc. You can reduce the swelling by calling your Dentist for treatment. Antibiotics may reduce spread of infection until you stop taking them, but then symptoms will come roaring right back. Best thing you can do, call your Dentist and arrange to be seen ASAP.

See a Dentist: A tooth abscess won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw and cheeks. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. See your dentist ASAP.
