A member asked:

How long does it take for the brain to replace cfs after a shunt drains it out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wrong question: shunts do not drain all csf fluid, only excess fluid. This allows pressure to be maintained throughout the system evenly. You never lost fluid, just re balanced it. This prevents the problem of pressure on brain tissue, and damage.
