Muscle/tendon strain: It would be somewhat unusual for a vein in your arm to hurt. I suspect that the discomfort may be coming from some of the muscles or tendons in the area that are strained from lifting. If you do note that the vein specifically is tender or swollen have the area examined. Consider taking a break from lifting and then reducing the amount of weight or reps to see if that helps. http://bit.ly/1OiIRcI
