Yes: You will get evaluated and if you need any test ,you can get it done there. You can also get pain medication for pain control. Good idea to go to the ER if in severe pain.

Acute back pain: I recommend an ER or Urgent Care visit to rule out any acute disc herniation or nerve impingement. Ibuprofen 800 mg every 8 hours with food may bring some relief if there is inflammation.
