See a doctor.: Left sided chest pain in the young adult is generally not caused by a heart attack. Some other kind of heart or lung problem or even a problem with the lining of the lungs can cause this. Chest wall or chest muscle problem can also cause chest pain. The best way to find it out is to go see a primary doctor. He might get a chest x ray or even perform more tests to find out and treat it.
