Get tested : It presents as blisters in the oral/mouth & lips or genital area -type 1 & 2 respectively , clinically one can suggest its herpes but an antibody blood test can confirm it. A positive test will confirm if you had past/ recent infection (igg / igm) antibodies respectively. However a negative test does not exclude or rule out that u had the infection . Consult with your dr for any concerns questions.

Herpes: The only true way to know if you have herpes is with a blood test. A good health care advisor may be able to identify lesions if they are present in an outbreak. But, all adults should have the herpes tests and know their status.
