Make sure not HSV: To be safe, have a conversation with your doctor about herpes, if you haven't already done so. Your symptoms compatible with an initial herpes infection as well as hand foot and mouth disease. HFMD usually has a skin rash, which you don't mention, and occurs mostly in kids under 5 years old. Unlike HFMD, herpes can be effectively treated to speed healing.
