Sure it is..: Make an appointment with the second specialist, and have the second specialist take their own set of radiographs. Explain that the visit is confidential and you do not wish any of your medical information to be discussed with anyone other than yourself. It's that simple.

Simple: Just request that the 2nd opinion specialist does not discuss your visit with the first one. This is your right if you choose to exercise it. The Dentist is bound by HIPPA to keep your information private unless you authorize it released in writing. I do this frequently for patients. Get the 2nd opinion. Others go out of town or state - a lot of trouble. Good Luck.

Just do it: Easy, just do it. You have every right to get a second opinion if you so wish for any reason. Don't worry if the other specialist finds out.
