No cure: There are many different types of neuropathy and for some types you can delay the progression, but there is usually no cure for neuropathies. Treatment consists of symptom control with medications. Rarely there are procedures or surgeries that can help.

Look for causes: Neuropathy is more of a symptom than a disease- the most important thing to do is to get a thorough workup including blood tests and (if indicated) electrical testing such as a nerve conduction study to determine what kind of neuropathy it is and what might be causing it. Depending on the cause, there may be a curative treatment in addition to the symptomatic ones.
