Pancreatic Enzymes: Amylase and lipase are enzymes produced by the Pancreas which lies in the upper middle part of abdomen.These enzymes are used in digestion.Amylase converts carbohydrates to glucose and lipase converts lipids to fatty acid.They can get elevated when pancreas is inflamed due to any cause.Your Amylasd is slightly elevated and your doctor must suspected Pancreatitis. Discuss with your doctor about it
