Severe dementia: People with severe dementia will not be able to care for themselves. Their life expectancy is like that of an infant. They are completely dependent on others for survival. With excellent care they could survive for a long time. They will need help to remember to eat and drink. Severe dehydration can occur as well as advanced infections. Unfortunately it requires constant care and supervision.
