Should be OK: As long as you are healthy that should be fine. Xanax (alprazolam) is a pretty safe drug. Make sure you have a ride to and from your dentist.

Oral Sedation: is one of the available methods of conscious sedation dentistry, along with nitrous oxide. Typically, the pill is Triazolam or Xanax (alprazolam) which is a member of the benzos family and it's usually taken about an hour before the procedure.
