If i have had an severe allergic reaction to prevacid, should i take something similar like dexilant (dexlansoprazole) or stick with nexium?

Depends: It depends on what kind of symptoms you had from Prevacid since many so-called allergic reactions are just intolerances. If you can tolerate Nexium ,Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) should be fine. But if Nexium is working, there is no reason to change.
