HIGHLY unlikely: Nexplanton is the most effective contraceptive available. It's as good, or better, than sterilization. In 11 clinical trials in which 942 women enrolled for two to four years showed the etonogestrel implant was well-tolerated and effective: no pregnancies occurred(UpToDate). Many women have no periods on Nexplanton. Rare reports of contraception failure on HIV therapy. http://bit.ly/1hKZ4wy
