Is clonidine effective for ptsd?

Can be: There is no one med that is best for PTSD. Clonidine used alone or in combination with other medications may be helpful for symptoms of PTSD. PTSD treatment should include psychotherapy which may be one of several different types. Clonidine: I have not actually used Clonidine for this purpose. Studies shows Clonidine/ catapres has been used effectively off -label to treat PTSD related nightmares & to improve quality of sleep.
