Yes they do: Yes they have malignant potential , 40 % villous adenomas are malignant , bigger the the size greater the chances of being cancer in it. Speak to the doctor ( with your dad s permission ) get it biopsied if it is not done for removal.

Can removal of your gallbladder increase your risk for colon polyps or colon cancer because of bile salt being directly dumped into your large bowels.
