Yes: It may take close to 3 months to see a stable appearance. Use gentle exfoliation with a mild cleanser and non-comedogenic moisturizer as well as a high spf during the day.

Retinoids: Yes, this is normal, as the pores are exfoliating themselves and ridding themselves of debris. This will improve with time.
