Shin splints : At your age it can be growing pains. Have you had a rapid growth spurt lately? I would recommend thicker socks and comfortable shoes with ankle support. If the pain continues to hurt, you should consult a physician for an x-ray to rule out a stress fracture or osteosarcoma.
