Ask your DR: For prescription of tricyclics antidepressants/ Gabapentin , muscle relaxers , benzodiazepines , opiods or narcotics. These are alternative pain meds. Getting enough sleep and resting your mind as well as physical therapy, epidural shots, spinal decompression may help. God bless u!

Tramadol: In my experience, tramadol will not be the drug of choice to effectively alleviate your lower back pain as a result of 2 levels of lumbar disc herniation. Contact your prescribed physician to discuss for possible medication modification. If your physician is uncomfortable to prescribe controlled narcotic pain medication, have him or her refer you to a pain management specialist.
