Need more info: May or may not be associated. May be due to diet change, metabolic disorder, gum disease, neurological disorder, allergy, systemic disease, Meds, etc. see BOTH your General Physician AND your General Dentist to start the diagnostic process, establish baseline, prescribe treatment and, perhaps, make referrals.
