Effexor (venlafaxine): Effexor (venlafaxine) XR is commonly known to cause diarrhea. If temporally the onset of the diarrhea occurred after the start of the medication, then you may have to either change the medication or the dosage that you're currently taking. Do not make any changes in your medication yourself. You should report your potential side effect to your doctor for advice. Good luck.
