Er physicians, trauma surgeons, & general surgeons: what are your thoughts on quickclot, in order to stop serious bleeding when far from medical care?

Specializes in Hospital-based practice

Good clinical trials: I am not in the specialties that you preface, but from what I know bout medical trials, Kaolin (QuickClot) has proven effective in military settings in stopping life-threatening bleeds, & is used by vascular / trauma surgeons during external operations. I have some concerns about sterility, & even if used in a rural setting, the pt should b transported for further care ASAP. But it cd save lives.
