Throat pain, feels very dry and hard to swallow. back upper part of mouth by uvula feels the driest. water doesn't help. what is this??

Infection: If your throat is dry and painful it could be infection; do you have fever or any other symptoms, like body aches or felling ill? Did it come on suddenly or has this been going on for some weeks? Anybody else sick at home? Since it may be infection, and you may need antibiotics, see your doctor

Mouth breathing?: Symptoms worse in the morning or after sleep? Mouth breathing in your sleep could be a cause or at least a factor. That's my first thought. If that's the issue, then you'll need to address whatever's causing that. Please get back to us with more info. Hope that helps.
