Usually 1-3 days: But cannot say for sure--depends on what triggered the boil/abscess--if it is still present, then you will continue to see pus and the cavity may need washed out.

Depends: Usually if the abcess core is removed and the infection is responding to the antibiotics a few days. If the drainage starts increasing or is not decreasing, you can go back to see your doctor.
