Mgt: If the wound is clean and if you have had a tetanus vaccination within the last 10 years, you are still protected. If there is a wound infection, please see your provider and a booster may be given at that time.

Any wound at risk: The development of tetanus requires a breach in the integraty of the skin(a cut) and contamination of that cut by tetanus spores. A clean blade or object, cutting contaminated skin, or a clean wound touched by contaminated fingers, sets the stage for spores to germinate in the wound and produce tetanus.Booster within 5- 10 yrs keeps you covered, if its been a while I would update at your convenie
